Zorgtoeslag is a government subsidy for basic health insurance (zorgverzekering). It is paid monthly by the Belastingdienst/Toeslagen and helps offset the cost of mandatory health insurance.
Dutch residents aged 18 and over with Dutch basic health insurance can qualify if their 2026 income is up to €40,857 without a toeslagpartner or €51,142 together with a toeslagpartner. Capital is also taken into account: €146,011 without partner or €184,633 together with a toeslagpartner.
In 2026 the highest rounded monthly amount is about €129 for a single person and €246 for partners together. The exact amount decreases as income rises.
