Kinderopvangtoeslag is a government compensation for childcare costs: daycare (kinderdagverblijf), after-school care (BSO), and registered childminders (gastouder). Paid by the Belastingdienst/Toeslagen.
Working parents or parents undergoing education/integration whose children attend registered daycare or BSO. Both parents must be working or studying.
In 2026 parents with joint income up to €56,413 can receive 96% of the maximum hourly rate. The 2026 maximum hourly rates are €11.23 for daycare, €9.98 for out-of-school care (BSO) and €8.49 for registered childminders. Compensation is limited to 230 hours per child per month.
